Is Reiki a religion?

No. Reiki is spiritual in nature but is not a religion. It has no doctrine, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn or receive Reiki.

Who can receive Reiki?

Any one and every one can receive Reiki, including children and even animals. Reiki is both gentle and powerful. In its long history Reiki has aided in healing practically every illness and injury known to man. It also works to improve the effectiveness of other types of therapy. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance and has many benefits for both the client and practitioner.

Can Reiki cause harm?

No. Reiki is guided by God Consciousness and thus can not do harm. It always knows what a person needs and will adjust itself to create an effect that is best for that person.

Is the practitioner’s energy depleted by giving Reiki?

No. Reiki is a channeled healing, so the practitioner’s energy is not tapped. Actually, both the client and practitioner receive Reiki during a session, benefitting both.

Can anyone learn Reiki?

Yes. That is one of the reasons Reiki is such a gift. No matter what your background or training – you can learn Reiki. Many people who enjoy the benefits of Reiki, however, choose not to be attuned. This is fine. But if you are attuned, you’ll find the results of any Reiki session even greater.

Can Reiki be sent long distance?

Yes. Part of the Level II attunement is learning a distance symbol that helps you send healing from afar. You can even send Reiki Energy to situations or disasters that you hear about on the news. This symbol can also be used to send healing to the past or future.
